Some of my earliest memories as a child are attending car races at Lime Rock Park in the 80’s. I was fascinated by the speed, the sound and the colors of race cars. I remember collecting promotional posters and plastering them on my bedroom walls, dreaming of racing those cars one day.
In my 20’s, I got involved in the Import and Sport Compact tuning scene, drag-racing and auto-x’ing my DC5 Acura RSX Type-S. In 2005, some friends and I started a web-zine and community forum called TheSpeedLounge and as the director of photography, I found myself photographing race cars at drag races, road races and drift events all over the east coast and beyond.
That dream of racing real cars never came true, but when I discovered that I could race and design virtual ones in iRacing, I rediscovered a passion that had been hidden for too long.
